Another Trekking Adventure On a Budget With New Friends...    Let's Go!

Every year I like to explore a new hidden world treasure - a place worthy of a spot on my bucket list, as yet undiscovered by the casual tourist.

I find that inviting people makes the trip all the more interesting and also more affordable.  Groups of people can take advantage of economies of scale and group discounts.

This is a meetup-type group, not a business, and I am not a travel company .. I have a day job.   For you, it is an opportunity to go, at cost and with the added security of a group, on a planned and curated adventure with no logistical worries.  To maximize the experience, the trip is limited to 10 people.

An Extreme Trekking Adventure in Comfort through a designated World Wildlife Fund unique destination.

Experience Authentic Pueblo Meals and Lodging

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage   Pre-Columbian Zapotec Ruins of Monte Alben.

Taste Oaxacan world-class cuisine

PUEBLOS MANCOMUNADOS

Oaxaca, Mexico

Let's Do This Together!!   IT will be a great trip like the 2012 trip to Peru or last year’s Trans Zion trip.  Let me know your interest level.  Like the Peru trip, the more trekkers that we can gather, the lower the cost for each individual.  We will work with local indigenous people who have intimate knowledge and a historic perspective of the places we visit, guiding us to a deeper appreciation of flora, fauna, and the coexisting indigenous cultures. We will also explore the colorful city of Oaxaca, see some ancient Zapotec ruins, and participate in a cooking class, learn about the Oaxacan world class cusine while preparing our own lunch. This promises to be an “off the beaten path” trip with opportunities to experience the mountains, pueblos and culture of  the "Gente de las Nubes" (people of the clouds).

Pueblos Mancomunados

are a group of eight indiginous Zapotec pueblos, connected by a network of hiking trails high in the bio-diverse forested Sierra Norte Mountains of Oaxaca Mexico.

The villages of the Pueblos Mancomunados have created a united network of ecotourism communities with village-run cabins and dining rooms for visitors.   Maintained hiking trails go from village to village.

Enjoy the hospitality and cuisine of the indigenous “Gente de las Nubes”
